The company announced these impressive third-quarter 2026 results earlier Tuesday, noting its crypto division now encompasses 503,070 products by the quarter's close.

Though crypto remains a minor contributor to overall earnings, transaction revenue within that sector hit $161.6 million for the period, against a cost of $160.0 million.

Looking at the first nine months of 2026, net crypto transaction revenue totaled $3.7 million, derived from $417.5 million in gross revenue.

In September, member trading saw a 14% jump, with 218,469 transactions recorded; Bitcoin claimed a 39% share of the trading volume.

Beyond digital assets, SoFi significantly outperformed market expectations for the period, achieving revenue of $1.37 billion, which is 9.08% above consensus estimates.

The platform has demonstrated consistent strength, exceeding revenue estimates in all four quarters and beating EPS forecasts three times in the past four quarters.

The firm, which started as a student loan refinancing venture, has expanded into a comprehensive financial services platform, boasting a market capitalization of $21.5 billion.

Why it matters

SoFi's strong overall financial performance signals growing institutional confidence, even as crypto remains a small revenue contributor. Investors should watch how the company integrates its crypto offerings moving forward given its recent stock volatility.
